Kids run/walk/dance laps around a course for approximately 30-45 minutes depending on grade. Families and friends donate to the runner – either a flat donation or on a per minute basis.

The Fun/Color Run is a school-wide fundraising event. Kids run/walk/dance laps around a course for approximately 30-45 minutes depending on grade. Families and friends donate to the runner – either a flat donation or on a per minute basis. Donations can be made via a website or to the PTA via check.
The Fun Run is for TK-5th graders; the Color Run is for the 6th-8th graders. The Color Run includes running through colored powder that is food-grade, non-toxic, and non-staining. While it sounds messy, the kids have a blast. Be ready to see some colorful middle schoolers at pick up on October 24.
Friday, October 24. TK, AM Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 3rd from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; PM Kinder, 4th and 5th will run from 11:15-12:15 p.m.; and middle school (6-8th) will run from 1:30-2:30 p.m. We will need parent volunteers October 13 – 24.
The Sierra Oaks PTA and parent volunteers are handling ALL of the Fun/Color Run logistics in-house (INCLUDING a parent DJ!!!). The team will be at drop-off and at school from 10/13 through 10/24; join us where you can! We’ll need help setting up the course, awarding prizes, getting the kids excited, and handling communications. We are still using a vendor to build the website and take donations – for a significantly reduced fee.
If you want your donations to avoid vendor fees, you can donate directly to the PTA via check or cash.
Please send your child to school on Friday, October 24th in athletic shoes and socks and comfortable running clothes. All students will receive a FREE Fun Run/Color Run T-shirt to wear for the event. Please consider sending a labeled water bottle with your child.

The Sierra Oaks Fun/Color Run is 1 of only 2 fundraisers during the 2025-26 school year. The PTA is dedicated providing access to enriching opportunities and to closing the achievement gap for disadvantaged students. The PTA helps support field trips, the Crocker Art Ark, campus improvement projects – including a gaga ball pit (coming soon) and cougar mural (in the works) – and supports direct classroom learning through teacher stipends.
